CRICKET FANS IN WITH A CHANCE TO WIN US$100,000 FROM DIGICEL
- The Digicel Series US$100,000 Bowl gives two lucky Digicel customers the chance to attend the 4th Digicel ODI in Barbados and bowl for US$100,000
Friday, February 6th – Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica: To celebrate the Digicel Series 2009 – More Than a Match, Digicel today launched a fantastic new promotion ‘The Digicel Series US$100,000 Bowl’ where two lucky cricket fans from across the Caribbean will win an all expenses paid trip to the 4th Digicel ODI in Barbados and be in with a chance to bowl at the Kensington Oval for US$100,000.
By simply texting the words ‘More Than a Match’ to a four digit number (visit www.digicelcricket.com for details), customers are automatically entered into the draw. On March 16th, two Digicel customers from each country will be randomly selected and each customer will be asked to sum up in one sentence why they are the Windies’ most passionate fan. Cricket fans across the region can then register their vote on www.digicelcricket.com for who they want to take part in the Digicel Series US$100,000 Bowl.
On March 22nd, Digicel will announce the two cricket fans with the most votes and present them with an all expenses paid trip for two to Barbados for the 4th Digicel ODI on March 29th.
The competition to win US$100,000 takes place during the lunch break of the 4th Digicel ODI at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, when the two lucky winners will each get two balls to bowl on a full size 22-yard pitch. The first person to bowl the single stump out of the ground using their two bowls will win the grand prize of US$100,000.
Digicel Group Head of Sponsorship, Kieran Foley, explains the reason behind the promotion: “Digicel promised to deliver a bigger, better experience for cricket fans at the Digicel Series 2009. The Digicel US$100,000 Bowl is a great opportunity for two lucky cricket fans to attend the 4th Digicel ODI in Barbados to cheer on the West Indies and test out their own cricketing skills by bowling for the chance to win US$100,000. This is just one of many exciting activities that we are rolling out across the region as the West Indies takes on England in what is already shaping up to be an exciting Digicel Series.”
