DIGICEL SUPPORTS CARIBBEAN MARKETPLACE 2009!

DIGICEL IS ONE OF THE DESTINATION PLATINUM SPONSORS FOR CARIBBEAN MARKET PLACE 2009 – A FIRST FOR THE OECS!

Castries, St. Lucia: January 14, 2009: Digicel, the Bigger, Better Network announced its sponsorship in the amount of eighty thousand dollars in cash and kind to this year’s Caribbean Marketplace 2009. The handover and announcement of Digicel being one of the destination platinum sponsors was announced at a press conference which was held at The Dolphin Conference Room on Tuesday January 13, 2009 at the Bay Garden’s Beach Resort. 

The event, which is considered the most important tourism marketing event in the Caribbean, is expected to attract 1,500 delegates from over 22 countries.  Organized annually by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, this business to business exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for suppliers of tourism products.

The Caribbean Marketplace will be held from January 18th to the 20^th, 2009 with the closing ceremony at Pigeon Island and promises to be a memorable event. Soca icon Machael Montano HD and local artiste Ricky T are expected to perform at this year’s closing ceremony. The theme for this year’s Caribbean Marketplace 2009 is ‘Business on the Beach.’
